Revealing Panes, Reflecting Pain

The life story of George and Jans Bruggeman depicts world history, racism, struggle, and love. A soldier in the Dutch Army, George fought and survived a Japanese prisoner of war camp while at the same time, Jans endured a refugee camp. The love story between the two is palpable from beginning to end. Walking in our Schoenen portrays the grit of their generation and will leave the reader with hope and patriotism floating in the heart.

This couple has quite a life tale!! I am fortunate to have spent significant time with them in order to write it all down. One of my most important pieces of writing is now available for you to read!

About Me

Arnold writes poetry and non-fiction that centers on personal experience. Because she has been teaching communication to women who are incarcerated, she understands a bit about the plight of an incarcerated woman. Arnold often writes about her encounters with these women and about the struggles they face when returning to society. Building relationships is the key to impactful writing as well as art.
